What you'll find here
Survival games, played at a steady pace
Old Man Plays Games66 is a YouTube channel about survival games: open worlds, crafting, scavenging and base building. Most videos are part of a longer series, where the same world carries on from one episode to the next, so you can watch a base grow, a plan fall apart, and a game get better or worse as its updates arrive.
A lot of the games are in Early Access or still in demo form. That makes the channel a good way to see what a new survival game actually plays like before you spend money on it. You see the first hour, the bugs, the moments where it clicks, and whether it holds up twenty episodes later.
The commentary is relaxed. The channel started with no commentary at all, and while there's more talking now, there's still room to just enjoy the game: the sound of the rain, the quiet walk back to base, the moment you hear something behind you.
This site makes it easier to find your way around more than a thousand videos. Each series page explains what the game is, sums up what happens in the run, suggests where to start, and lists the episodes in order.
About the channel
Out here, the journey matters.
Old Man Plays Games66 is run by Lee Palmer, an older gamer who would rather explore every building than speedrun to the ending. If you like survival games and don't mind a few bad decisions along the way, you'll fit right in.
